What you need

  • A Liene PixCut S1 with the Liene Photo Mac app. It's the only printer File Ctrl is tested on.
  • Liene sticker paper.
  • No PixCut? The Letter and A4 PDFs print on any printer. Print on card and cut on the marks by hand.

What File Ctrl does

You enter a drawer's ID, name and contents. File Ctrl checks the name, finds an icon no other drawer uses, shows the label as it looks through the holder, and saves files ready to print.

It starts with one cabinet standard, BISLEY, with a 47 × 25 mm card and a 42 × 18 mm window. Your list stays in this browser, so use Export CSV as your real save.

Make a label

  1. Choose New drawer and enter an ID.
  2. Enter a name and contents. One word reads best, with 3 to 5 items.
  3. Check the name. File Ctrl compares it with your other drawers. It only suggests, and never renames.
  4. Pick an icon. Icons in use can't be picked twice.
  5. Check the proof. The gray is the steel frame, and only the white shows in the holder.
  6. Save the drawer.

Print on a Liene PixCut S1

Tested with the Liene Photo Mac app. The app ignores file dpi, so always type the size. Print one sheet before a full run, because sheet cutting is new at this size.

Liene sheet: up to 9 labels

  1. Import the sheet, lock aspect, and type W 90, H 170, X 0, Y 0.
  2. Set cutting mode to Separate, not Overall, with border 1.5.
  3. Don't use AI remove BG.

Liene singles

  1. Import each label as its own image, lock on, and type W 22 × H 44 for rotated, or W 44 × H 22 for upright.
  2. Set cutting mode to Separate. It adds 1.5 mm per side, so 22 × 44 prints at 25 × 47.
  3. Keep everything inside 90 × 170, with at least 4 mm between stickers.

Print on any printer

  1. Choose Letter PDF or A4 PDF and save.
  2. Print at 100 %, with Fit to page off.
  3. Check the 50 mm bar with a ruler.
  4. Print on card and cut on the marks.

Your own icons

Paste an SVG in Tabler's style: 24 × 24 viewBox, fill none, stroke currentColor, stroke-width 2, round caps and joins, artwork within 2 to 22, and no text. File Ctrl names anything that doesn't fit.

The registry file

CSV and JSON use these columns: id, name, contents, icon, icon_source, custom_svg, icon_weak, version, status, updated. id and name are required. status is built, printed or installed. No two rows may share an ID, a name or an icon.
